Terms of Service

Effective: April 12, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Bad Economy mobile app and the badeconomy.xyz website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. What Bad Economy is (and isn't)

Bad Economy is a discovery tool. It aggregates publicly available job listings from company career pages and displays them in a swipe-based feed. When you tap "Apply", the Service sends you to the original company's application page.

Bad Economy is not an employment agency, recruiter, or staffing service. We do not represent employers or candidates. We do not control the hiring process, the application process, or the content of job listings. We do not guarantee that any listing is open, accurate, or legitimate — we do our best to verify that listings are still active, but the authoritative source is always the company's own page.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

3. Accounts

You can browse and swipe anonymously. To save jobs across devices you create an account using Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or an email magic link. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account), which permanently removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. We'll tell you why when we can.

5. Third-party links

The Service contains links to third-party career pages and company websites. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for anything you encounter after clicking out. Read those sites' own terms and privacy policies. If you apply to a job, you are entering into a relationship with that company directly, not with Bad Economy.

6. Job listings — no warranty

We aggregate listings automatically. Listings may be out of date, mis- categorized, or pulled from a page whose structure changed. We do not represent candidates, and we do not vet employers. A "Verified Active" badge means we saw the link respond successfully at the time shown — it does not mean the role is still open or legitimate.

7. No employment relationship

Nothing in the Service creates an employment, agency, partnership, or fiduciary relationship between you and Bad Economy. We are not responsible for the outcome of any application, interview, offer, or job.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, code, and brand (including the name "Bad Economy") are ours. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy the app or its assets except as allowed by law.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy of job listings. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, though we work hard to make it all three.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bad Economy and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of income, missed job opportunities, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100) or the amount you paid to use the Service in the 12 months before the claim (for a free app, that's $0).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Bad Economy harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or via email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where the operator of Bad Economy resides, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that state, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

14. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from within the app. We can suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason, including if you violate these terms. Sections 6-11 and 13 survive termination.
